Why doesn't God just create more oil?

Where to start with this?

Rocky Twyman has a radical solution for surging gasoline prices: prayer.

Twyman - a community organizer, church choir director and public relations consultant from the Washington, D.C., suburbs - staged a pray-in at a San Francisco Chevron station on Friday, asking God for cheaper gas. He did the same thing in the nation's Capitol on Wednesday, with volunteers from a soup kitchen joining in. Today he will lead members of an Oakland church in prayer.

Yes, it's come to that.

"God is the only one we can turn to at this point," said Twyman, 59. "Our leaders don't seem to be able to do anything about it. The prices keep soaring and soaring."

But is that really any different from the headline the other day that G8 leaders have suggested that pumping more oil would be the solution to rising gas prices?

Production of oil from the middle east is purposely managed to impact price levels...their interest is to maintain high prices...so why would they generate more...

And the 2nd largest deposit, the oil sands projects in Northern Alberta, the G8 doesn't think they're already producing as much as they can?

Of course it wouldn't be surprising to hear Bush say that...they've been printing money for years to deal with their fiscal problems.

And how come no one has pointed out that rising gas prices is actually a positive benefit to influencing climate change. I.e. higher prices...lower consumption...lower amount of GHGs emitted into atmosphere...

There is a finite amount of oil in the ground...most industry experts believe that Saudi Arabia has much less than they state...

Sure, pump more if you can but sooner or later it will run out...and then the real praying will start...
